All the information you need to return your property back to us.
Checkout Checklist
There are lots of things to organise and think about when moving out of your property, including getting your deposit back. It is essential to leave the property in the same condition it was when you moved in, subject to fair wear and tear. Follow our simple tips to help make your check out efficient. If you are on a joint and several agreement your responsibilities remain until the last day of your tenancy regardless of your physical presence in the property, and if you are all leaving at different times, you should agree a day and time to meet up at the property to ensure you are happy with how it is being returned; please bear this in mind if you intend to return your keys separately as you may need to arrange a date for you all to return and confirm you are happy with how the property is returned.
If only one or two tenants are leaving and the remainder are renewing for another year, we will still attend to inspect the relevant bedroom(s) as well as checking the condition of the communal areas to make sure it is in good order for the new tenants who will be moving in.
Please follow our checkout checklist which will guide you in how to return the property back to us. We’ve even created a quick checklist for you to use, please remember to complete all the items listed. The list is not conclusive, and you should also refer to the inventory which is specific to your property. If you need a copy of your original inventory please email us and we will get this to you straight away. If there is anything you are unsure of, please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss.
If you have logged into any accounts on your smart TV such as Netflix or Prime please remember it is your responsibility to sign out before you leave.
Key Return
When you leave the property please make sure it is secure; lock all doors and ensure all windows are closed. Return your keys to our office in an envelope with your name and room number clearly marked. For security purposes do not write your address on the envelope you are returning your keys in. If the office is closed you can post your keys through the letter box which is located on the side of our office building. If you are returning the keys by post, please ensure they are sent by recorded delivery. The final inspection of the property cannot be conducted until all the keys have been returned.
Any keys returned before the end of the tenancy will be held at the office for security purposes and will not relinquish you from the tenancy agreement.
Deposit Return
Once all of the keys for the property have been returned and we can confirm the property is empty, we will complete the check out inspection.
Your rental payments are due until the end of your tenancy. As per your tenancy agreement, we cannot process the return of your deposit whilst there are any rental arrears so please make sure we receive your final rental payment on time.
