Boost Function on EPH Controls Thermostat
- Posted On: 7 Feb 2022
To be energy efficient please use the thermostat as instructed:
1. Leave on AUTO function. If the whole house is too hot or you do not want the heating on press "OFF" on the thermostat. Please do not turn the heating off at the boiler as this often results in low pressure on the boiler which will affect the heating and hot water when you want to turn it back on.
2. If you cannot agree on a set temperature throughout the property leave on AUTO and turn down or off individual radiators.
3. If you wish for a higher temperature (up to a maximum of 23 degrees) please use the BOOST function for 1,2 or 3 hours at a time (refer to instructions below).
BOOST FUNCTION
The thermostat can be boosted up to a maximum of 23 degrees for 1, 2, or 3 hours at a time while the thermostat is operating in all modes except for holiday mode. We would recommend having the heating no higher than 20 degrees.
Press the BOOST button 1, 2, or 3 times, the time that the boost will be activated to will flash on the screen.
If you do not press any other button, the boost will activate to the temperature displayed on the screen after 5 seconds.
If you press the OK button, the temperature will now flash. You can edit the temperature if you press the + or – buttons.
Press the OK button or wait for 5 seconds for the boost to activate.
BOOST TO will now be displayed on the screen with the time that it is activated to displayed above this text.
Press the BOOST button again to deactivate the boost
Heating System Schedule
The heating system operates with fixed on and reset temperatures, as outlined in the table below. These settings run concurrently, meaning the heating system can be on 24/7. The reset temperature is not an "off" point – it is the temperature to which the heating will return at the designated time.
Schedule and Temperature Settings:
P1 | P2 | P3 | P4 | P5 | P6 | |
Monday - Friday | 6:30am | 8:00am | 12:00pm | 2:00pm | 5:30pm | 10:00pm |
21°C | 10°C | 10°C | 10°C | 21°C | 10°C | |
Saturday - Sunday | 8:00am | 10:00am | 12:00pm | 2:00pm | 5:30pm | 11:00pm |
21°C | 10°C | 10°C | 10°C | 21°C | 10°C |
The heating will automatically turn on and stay on as long as the room temperature (measured by the thermostat) falls below the set baseline temperature. Once the room temperature exceeds the set baseline, the heating will turn off.
Boosts: Boosts are both time and event limited. The heating will stay on until one of the following occurs:
- The thermostat reaches your set temperature (event-limited, e.g., 23°C), at which point the heating will turn off.
- The reset time is reached, causing the baseline temperature to revert to 10°C (or 21°C, depending on the time of day).
